Fragrance review · Prices verified 8 September 2026

One clone, worn through an Indore summer and measured against the original's own ingredient list. Notes, price, wear time, and the two flankers nobody has copied yet.

A good kilian angels share clone has to solve one specific problem, and most of them don't. The original sells for $222 for 50 ml at Fragrance Lord and $335 for the 100 ml refillable, which lands in India somewhere past ₹20,000 once duty is added. That's the gap everyone is trying to close. This review covers what a kilian angels share clone actually has to reproduce, what the Kilian Angels Share notes really are according to the brand's own ingredient declaration, what the flankers cost, and how our ₹799 bottle held up across an Indore August.

TL;DR: The boozy effect in Angels' Share leans on coumarin and cinnamal, both declared on Kilian's own INCI list at 24S and both cheap. That's why a kilian angels share clone can get close. Ours held 8 to 10 hours on fabric above 35°C, at ₹799 against $222.

Short answer: is a kilian angels share clone worth buying?

Yes, if you want the cognac and praline signature rather than the exact bottle. The chemistry is reproducible, which is not true of every luxury fragrance. What you lose is the dry-down complexity after hour four. What you keep is roughly the same reaction from everyone who walks past you.

What does a kilian angels share clone actually have to copy?

Three things, in order of difficulty. The brand describes the opening as cognac oil over oak absolute, cinnamon essence and tonka bean absolute, finishing on sandalwood, praline and vanilla (Kilian Paris). Reproduce the boozy top, the dry cinnamon, and a praline base that stays warm. Miss any one and you have a vanilla gourmand.

The boozy top is the hard part, and it's where cheap attempts fall over. Anyone can make something smell sweet. Making it smell like something you'd pour into a glass takes a specific accord that most budget houses skip. If a bottle smells right for twenty minutes and then flattens into sugar, that's the tell.

Cinnamon is the second trap. It has to read dry and woody, closer to bark than to a scented candle. Push it too sweet and the whole thing tips into bakery. Get all three markers holding for six hours or more and you have a real kilian angels share clone rather than a lookalike note list.

Kilian Angels Share notes: what the ingredient list gives away

Kilian's own ingredient declaration at 24S lists Coumarin, Limonene, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Cinnamal, Linalool, Eugenol and Benzyl Benzoate. Read that list next to the marketing copy and something becomes obvious. Coumarin and cinnamal are doing the heavy lifting, and neither is rare.

Our finding Coumarin is the tonka-hay material that reads as boozy sweetness in almost every gourmand. Cinnamal is cinnamon aldehyde. Both cost very little, both are available to any formulator, and both are declared for a regulatory reason rather than a marketing one: coumarin (CAS 91-64-5) and cinnamal (CAS 104-55-2) sit on the EU list of 26 fragrance allergens that must be named on the label. That is the single technical reason a kilian angels share clone can land close, while a clone of something built on rare naturals cannot.

A published GC-MS breakdown from Archives Gilbert Bendoni reached the same conclusion from the other direction, finding no natural cognac extract driving the effect and pointing instead at coumarin, tonka absolute, ethyl maltol and vanillin isobutyrate. Kilian does state that cognac essence is present and gives the juice its caramel colour, which is a claim about the liquid rather than about what your nose picks up.

So what does that mean if you're shopping? It means the note list on a clone's label is not the thing to check. Two bottles can list identical notes and smell nothing alike, because the ratio and the quality of the coumarin and cinnamal decide the result. Wear time is the more honest proxy, and it's the one thing a seller can't fake in a product description.

Angels share Kilian price: what the original costs in 2026

The 50 ml sits at $222 and the 100 ml refillable at $335 at Fragrance Lord, with the 250 ml carafe at $572. The flankers cost more. Venba lists On the Rocks at $309.98 and the Paradis extrait at $319.99.

Now run the arithmetic nobody puts on the product page. Per millilitre, the 50 ml works out to $4.44, the 100 ml refill to $3.35 and the carafe to $2.29. If you're committed to the original, the refill is the only sensible entry, and the small bottle is the worst value in the range by a wide margin.

Landed in India, none of this improves. Import duty, GST and forwarding push a 50 ml past ₹20,000 in most cases, and grey-market listings below that number are the ones worth being suspicious of. That gap is the entire reason the clone market exists.

Kilian angels share clone review: what our wear testing showed

Our own bottle held 8 to 10 hours on cotton and 6 to 7 hours on skin at temperatures above 35°C, tested through an Indore August. Community reports put the Kilian original at roughly 6 to 8 hours. On fabric, the clone outlasts it. On skin the two sit close, which surprised us more than it should have.

Our figures come from wear testing above 35°C in Indore, not from instrument measurement.

Concentration explains most of that. Angelic Share is built at 25% fragrance oil, above the 15 to 20% typical of designer eau de parfum. More oil per millilitre means the cognac and praline keep projecting once the alcohol has flashed off, which matters far more in humidity than it does in a European autumn.

Where does it fall short? After hour four the original keeps unfolding, with the sandalwood and oak separating out into something you can still pick apart. The clone settles into praline and vanilla and stays there. If you own the Kilian and wear it weekly, you will notice. If you don't, nobody around you will.

Honest limit No kilian angels share clone under ₹3,000 will fool a trained nose past the four hour mark. What it will do is produce the same compliments from people who are not studying your wrist. Any seller claiming an indistinguishable match is selling you a story alongside the bottle.

How close is the Lattafa angel share clone?

Close, but it answers a different question. Khamrah sells for ₹2,500 to ₹3,500 in India against ₹799, and it's a close cousin rather than a copy. It works the same warm, spiced, boozy territory but swaps cognac for dates, which reads fruitier and more Middle Eastern. Owners of both consistently land on that same distinction.

Calling it a Lattafa angel share clone slightly oversells it. The praline, tonka, cinnamon and vanilla structure genuinely overlaps. The opening does not. So if the cognac note is the reason you want this fragrance at all, Khamrah will leave you slightly short no matter how much you like it.

Is the kilian angels share dupe Zara made actually closer?

Sand Desert at Sunset has the best backstory of any dupe in this category, because it was composed by Benoit Lapouza, the same perfumer behind the Kilian original. Fragrantica reviewers describe it as a subdued version with chocolate added and the booze turned down, and at least one prefers it outright.

Others find it thin. The recurring complaint is that it lacks the depth and projection of the original, which tracks with a lighter concentration. In Indian heat that lightness is a real problem, and it's the reason a Zara pick can vanish on you before lunch while a heavier composition is still going.

There's also a stocking problem. Zara India carries fragrance inconsistently, so this usually means paying import prices for something positioned as the budget option, which defeats the point.

Does any clone cover Kilian Angels Share On the Rocks or Paradis?

No. As of September 2026 neither flanker has an affordable copy, and both cost more than the original: Venba lists On the Rocks at $309.98 and the Paradis extrait at $319.99. Kilian's Angels' Share collection now runs to three fragrances. On the Rocks keeps the original formula and adds a citrus and aldehyde overdose plus myrrh, so it smells like the same cognac served cold. Paradis is the extrait, built with raspberry liquor and Bulgarian rose over a heavier praline and tonka base.

If you want the on the rocks effect from a bottle you already own, there's a free workaround: spray a bright citrus cologne on your wrists and the gourmand on your chest. It gets you closer than you'd expect.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best kilian angels share clone in India?

Angelic Share at ₹799 for 50 ml is the most practical for Indian buyers, built at 25% fragrance oil and tested at above 35°C. Maison Alhambra Kismet is closer to the original but costs ₹2,000 to ₹2,800 and stocks inconsistently through marketplace sellers.

What are the Kilian Angels Share notes?

Kilian Paris lists cognac oil at the top, over oak absolute, cinnamon essence and tonka bean absolute, finishing on sandalwood, praline and vanilla. The declared ingredient list at 24S also names coumarin and cinnamal, which are the materials carrying most of the boozy sweetness.

What is the angels share Kilian price in 2026?

Fragrance Lord lists the 50 ml at $222, the 100 ml refillable at $335 and the 250 ml carafe at $572. Landed in India with duty, a 50 ml typically passes ₹20,000. Per millilitre the refill is the best value at $3.35.

Is Lattafa Khamrah a Kilian Angels Share clone?

Partly. Khamrah shares the cinnamon, praline, tonka and vanilla structure and the warm boozy character, but it uses dates where Kilian uses cognac. Owners of both describe it as a close cousin rather than a copy. It sells for ₹2,500 to ₹3,500 in India.

Which Zara perfume is the kilian angels share dupe?

Sand Desert at Sunset, released in 2023 and composed by Benoit Lapouza, the same perfumer behind the Kilian original. Reviewers describe it as lighter, with chocolate added and the cognac dialled back. Zara India stocks fragrance inconsistently, so it usually means import prices.

What does Kilian Angels' Share smell like?

It opens on cognac oil with a sugared spirit edge, moves through cinnamon, oak absolute and tonka bean, then settles on sandalwood, praline and vanilla. Most people read it as boozy apple pie. Kilian Paris files it in the Liquors collection as a cognac gourmand.

How long does Kilian Angels' Share last?

Published owner reports on Fragrantica put it at roughly 6 to 8 hours on skin. Gourmands hold considerably longer on fabric than on skin, because body heat accelerates evaporation of the cognac and cinnamon top notes. Two sprays is enough in warm weather.

Is Kilian Angels' Share worth the price?

That depends on which bottle. At $222 the 50 ml works out to $4.44 per millilitre, the worst value in the range. The 100 ml refill at $335 drops to $3.35 and the 250 ml carafe to $2.29. If you are buying the original, buy the refill.

Is buying a clone legal, and is it a fake?

An inspired-by fragrance is legal when it is sold under its own name and branding, which is what Angelic Share is. A counterfeit copies the original's name, bottle and packaging to pass itself off as genuine. We do not sell counterfeits, and all brand names remain the property of their owners.

The verdict on buying a kilian angels share clone

Buy one if you want the cognac, cinnamon and praline signature on a normal budget. The chemistry behind Angels' Share sits on materials any competent formulator can reach, which is exactly why this category works when clones of rarer compositions do not. Our own kilian angels share clone gives up dry-down complexity after hour four and gives you back roughly twenty-five times your money.

Don't buy one expecting to replace the original if you already own it and know every stage of its dry-down. That's the honest limit, and any page that tells you otherwise is selling harder than it's reporting.
