Updated 13 October 2026 · Corporate Diwali gifts for employees · plans for ₹500, ₹1,000 and ₹2,000 per head
By Suraj Verma, founder of Sense Perfume, Indore. Facts in this guide were checked on 12 October 2026.
Corporate Diwali gifts for employees should be the same value for everyone, easy to choose and useful after the festival. Set the per-head budget first: at ₹500, choose sweets, diyas or plants; at ₹1,000, let each person pick one 50 ml perfume from a short menu; at ₹2,000 and above, give a pair.
Then send us your headcount, and we confirm stock and dispatch dates on WhatsApp before you pay.
Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026. For a company order, send your enquiry by 18 October and confirm the order by 20 October. That leaves time to dispatch, check, label and hand out before Diwali week.

How should HR plan corporate Diwali gifts for employees?
HR should settle four decisions before buying corporate Diwali gifts for employees: the budget per head, who is included, one gift or a choice, and how the gifts reach people. Set one budget per head, usually ₹500, ₹1,000 or ₹2,000, and apply it to everyone, including contract staff. Include everyone who works with you in Diwali week, whether full-time, contract, intern or remote.
Offer a menu of three or four options at the same price rather than one gift for all, and pick an office drop for one site or home delivery for remote teams. Write the four answers down and get sign-off, then shop. A written plan keeps corporate Diwali gifts for employees consistent across teams, sites and managers. Our Diwali gift distribution plan turns these decisions into a four-week timeline, from enquiry to hand-out.
| Decision | Options | What usually works |
|---|---|---|
| Budget per head | ₹500, ₹1,000, ₹2,000+ | One amount for everyone, including contract staff |
| Who is included | Full-time, contract, interns, remote | Everyone who works with you in Diwali week |
| One gift or a choice | Same item, or a short menu | A menu of three or four, all the same price |
| Delivery | Office drop or ship to homes | Office drop for one site; homes for remote teams |
What can you give employees at ₹500, ₹1,000 and ₹2,000?
At ₹500 per employee, buy elsewhere: our bottles start at ₹799 on our product pages, so mithai, diyas, a desk plant or a good notebook are the honest fit. At ₹1,000, one 50 ml eau de parfum at ₹799, chosen from a short menu, leaves about ₹200 for a card or a small box of sweets.
At ₹2,000, the Office Pair of Neel and Ras & Hawas costs ₹1,598, and above ₹2,500 you can add a third bottle at ₹799. The ₹500 ideas match what India already buys for the festival: sweets and namkeen made up 5% of the ₹6.05 lakh crore Diwali trade in 2025, and home décor another 5%, according to CAIT via Business Today. Whatever the tier, keep corporate Diwali gifts for employees identical for everyone.
₹500
Budget tier
Budget Diwali gifts for employees work best when they are consumable or useful at a desk:
- A box of mithai or dry fruits from a local shop
- A set of terracotta diyas
- A small desk plant
- A good notebook and pen
Add a handwritten line from the team lead. It costs nothing.
₹1,000
One bottle, their choice
One 50 ml eau de parfum at ₹799, chosen by each person from a four-scent menu.
About ₹200 is left for a card or a small box of sweets.

How do you let each employee choose a scent?
A four-scent menu keeps corporate Diwali gifts for employees fair, because every option is a 50 ml eau de parfum at ₹799. It also works better than one scent for everyone, since perfume is personal. Five steps cover it:
- Pick four scents. We suggest Neel, Ras & Hawas, Snow and Flora: aquatic, citrus, woody-fresh and floral.
- Send a one-question form in Google Forms or Microsoft Forms, with one line describing each scent.
- Add a no-fragrance option. Some people prefer not to wear scent, and at least 175 fragrance ingredients can cause allergic reactions, according to US Poison Control. A sweets box covers them.
- Set a reply-by date two days out, and default anyone who doesn't answer to Neel.
- Send us the count per scent through the quote form. We confirm stock for each before you pay.

50 ml · EDP · Fresh citrus
- TopApple, lemon, bergamot, star anise
- HeartPlum, orange blossom, cardamom
- BaseMusk, amber, driftwood, moss
Apple, lemon and bergamot over musk. Bright and easy.

These four cover most tastes, which makes them a reliable menu of corporate Diwali gifts for employees.
How should you deliver and hand out office Diwali gifts?
Diwali gifts for office employees, whether a ₹799 bottle or a ₹1,598 pair, should arrive before Diwali week, not during it. Lakshmi Puja falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026, according to Dekho Panchang, so confirm your order by 20 October. Dispatch takes 24 to 48 hours and delivery 2 to 7 business days, per our delivery information.
An office drop suits a team in one location, with managers handing out corporate Diwali gifts for employees from one bulk delivery. Remote and hybrid teams need home delivery, which takes longer to organise because you have to collect and check every address, with consent.
- Label every gift with a name: it prevents swaps and shows who is missing.
- Keep two or three spares for new joiners and forgotten names.
- Log who received what: next year's plan then takes half the time.
| One drop at the office | Ship to each home | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Teams in one location | Remote and hybrid teams |
| Your effort | Sorting and labelling on site | Collecting addresses with consent |
| Risk | Missing people on leave | Festive courier delays |
| Tip | Book an hour and a room to hand out | Add phone numbers for the courier |
Are corporate Diwali gifts for employees taxable in 2026?
Corporate Diwali gifts for employees are not taxable at normal amounts. Gifts, vouchers and tokens to an employee are valued at nil up to ₹15,000 per tax year, up from ₹5,000, according to KPMG's summary of the Income-tax Rules, 2026, notified on 20 March 2026. A ₹799 or ₹1,598 gift sits well inside that.
The Income-tax Act, 2025 came into force on 1 April 2026, according to an Income Tax Department press release, so Diwali 2026 is the first festive season under the new Act. The ₹15,000 limit covers the whole tax year, April to March, so Diwali and New Year gifts count together.
For GST, gifts up to ₹50,000 per employee per year are not treated as a supply under Schedule I of the CGST Act, 2017, and you generally cannot claim input tax credit on goods given as gifts. Gifts to clients follow a different TDS rule, explained in our corporate Diwali gifts guide. Confirm your company's treatment with your chartered accountant.
Can you reuse the plan for New Year gifts?
The plan behind your corporate Diwali gifts for employees also works for New Year gifts for employees in December, almost unchanged: keep the same form and the four ₹799 scents (Neel, Ras & Hawas, Snow and Flora), and change only the card. The same plan covers onboarding gifts through the year.
Remember that the ₹15,000 employee limit covers the whole tax year, so a ₹799 Diwali gift and a ₹799 New Year gift together use only ₹1,598 of it. New Year gift ideas for employees that land well are the ones they will use in January: a scent for the new year, a planner, or a team lunch.
